  1. I am a law enforcement organization within the U.S. Department of Justice that enforces the federal laws and regulations relating to alcohol, tobacco, firearms, explosives, and arson. My tasks include ensuring fair and proper revenue collection and supporting federal, state, local, and international law enforcement.

  2. My mission is to enforce the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States and bring to the criminal and civil justice system of the United States, or any other competent jurisdiction, those organizations and principal members of organizations involved in the growing, manufacture, or distribution of controlled substances appearing in or destined for illicit traffic in the United States.

  3. I collected nearly $2 trillion in revenue and processed more than 222 million tax returns in 2003. My criminal investigation division investigates potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes.

  4. I am a component of the Executive Office of the President that establishes policies, priorities, and objectives for the nation’s drug control program. My goals are to reduce illicit drug use, manufacturing, and trafficking; drug-related crime and violence; and drug-related health consequences. My director produces the National Drug Control Strategy, which directs the nation’s antidrug efforts and establishes a program, budget, and guidelines for cooperation among federal, state, and local entities.
