This companion website features a sampling of the music discussed in Sean Parr’s Vocal Virtuosity: The Origins of the Coloratura Soprano in Nineteenth-Century Opera. Because the book integrates many close readings of opera arias, the author has provided playlists of recordings and complete piano-vocal scores of the arias as a supplement to the reading. The playlists feature many of the important singers mentioned in the book and the scores are excerpts from public domain early editions of the operas
