"This book raises the bar for introductory textbooks in Global Politics and IR. It is an innovative, erudite but student-centred introduction to the field, which covers an impressive range of material, including concepts of power, violence, state, empire, law, money and capitalism. The authors contributions are accessible and, along with a range of reflective exercises and further resources, enable students think critically about their own views and the myths that they are taught. It will be a hugely important resource for teachers as well as for students." - Dr Kimberly Hutchings, Professor of Politics and IR, Queen Mary University London, UK
