What is the Social Research Methods Student Panel?

We’re currently in the process of developing the new edition of one of our bestselling textbooks, Social Research Methods, and we want to make sure it’s still meeting the needs of students in the best way possible. Panellists will play an incredibly important role in ensuring it remains one of the most widely used social research methods textbooks.


What does being on the Social Research Methods Panel involve?

If you decide to take part in the Social Research Methods Panel we would be asking you to do chapter reviews of two or three chapters roughly every three months (starting in April and ending in February 2020). In between these chapter reviews we would also be sending smaller (and less reading intensive) tasks to do with cover design, text layout, and online resources. You could earn anything from 15 to 60 credits for each survey or review you complete for us (1 credit = £1).


How does being a panellist benefit me?

Apart from gaining credits to spend on OUP books, being a student panellist allows you to develop your analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, all of which will help enhance your CV. As these skills are so valued by employers, we are happy to provide references to support the great work you will do as a student panellist.

You will also have the opportunity to have your say in some of our major publishing projects. The feedback and suggestions from previous panellists has ensured that students are able to get the most from our textbooks.

 

Please note this panel is only open to current second year undergraduates studying in the UK and Europe.
