Free Bilingual Dictionaries Now Added To Oxford Dictionaries Online
23 July 2012
Oxford University Press has enhanced access to its dictionary content with the addition of free bilingual dictionaries on Oxford Dictionaries Online.
With just one click, users can now translate thousands of dictionary entries into French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
This addition complements Oxford Dictionaries Online’s free current English dictionary service, which provides Oxford definitions of words, along with advice on correct grammar, British spelling and American spelling, and punctuation, plus guidelines to help people to improve their English usage.
Glynnis Keir, Head of Online Dictionaries, said of the update:
“I am delighted to extend our service by offering four of Oxford’s bilingual dictionaries for quick access to accurate, up-to-date translations and all the useful language links we look for when studying, working, or travelling. The site is free and so simple to use that we’re confident it can play a great part in improving everyone’s language skills on a daily basis.”
The new functionality, now live, enables users to translate English-French / French-English, English-German / German-English, English-Italian / Italian-English, and English-Spanish / Spanish-English.
Oxford University Press publishes over 500 dictionaries and thesauruses, in more than 40 languages.
