OUP and Mondly announce partnership for English language learning
10 September 2020
We have partnered with leading online language platform Mondly, on a new suite of custom English grammar and vocabulary tests for its language app.
Mondly has enabled more than 60 million people from 190 countries to learn 41 different languages. Launched in 2014, its app quickly became a leader in the mobile space across Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
Our collaboration will enable English language learning in 33 languages including Danish, Persian, and Hebrew. It will also offer learning support with easy access to more than 3,500 different questions, and 108 English grammar and vocabulary tests. As part of the enhanced module, Mondly will integrate content based on our Oxford Practice Grammar tests and Oxford Learner’s Dictionary Oxford 3000.
Speaking of the partnership, Mondly CEO Alexandru Iliescu commented: ‘We're very excited to partner with OUP to offer content and testing from their world-renowned English-learning resources. There are 1.5 billion people around the world currently learning English, including over 25-percent of our users. Mondly and OUP are the ideal team to comprehensively support and enable their learning journey.’
Adding to this, OUP’s Partnerships and Innovation Manager Harry Cunningham said: ‘We're delighted to collaborate with Mondly who have been pursuing innovative solutions for language learning for several years. Improving education around the world and working alongside partners by providing our leading expert content to help more learners access the resources they need, is fundamental to achieving our mission.'
