Meet our people: Fabiana Pellegrino
30 November 2018
Fabiana, a Sales Support & Control Analyst for our English Language Teaching division in Brazil, shares what it’s like to work in her role.
‘My activities are mainly focused on providing support to the Promotion team outside the office by helping them to keep the best possible relationship with our customers. However, during my time working in Marketing I've also developed a soft spot for internal and institutional communications.
Since I started working here seven years ago, one of my responsibilities has been to publish a monthly newsletter for our staff and this task has planted a seed. Two years ago I took a course on internal communications and marketing that really opened my mind and inspired me to pursue this area. My colleagues from Marketing and I developed a project to create internal communications actions in our branch, such as to organize events to integrate staff, implant a notice board in our office, and to engage employees in our group on Yammer (our internal social media), among other things.
My favorite task has been the monthly interview I do with one of our staff members. It started as a written interview but we decided to upgrade it to video and it became one of the most popular posts on our Yammer group. It’s gratifying to see that the interviewee feels rewarded to be asked and that viewers have an opportunity to learn a bit more about one of their colleagues. And the best part is that I get to hear their stories during our chat.
This may seem small and we have so much to learn, but every time someone tells me that they read the newsletter, enjoyed an event, or watched an interview, something lights up inside me. My goal is continue to learn and help to improve the way we communicate at OUP Brazil.’
