Classics text adapts to digital evolution
20 August 2017
Since 1949, The Oxford Classical Dictionary has served students and scholars as the unrivalled single-source reference for a rich study of the Greco-Roman world. Yet as the field of Classics has evolved, the need for trusted, online resources adaptive to changes in scholarship has evolved as well.
In response, OUP is transforming The Oxford Classical Dictionary into a premier suite for online research-one that is digitally integrative and reflects the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of Classics.
Expanding on over sixty years of trusted scholarship, as The Oxford Classical Dictionary develops, it will be a sui generis reference among research materials for the classical world.
The Oxford Classical Dictionary is part of the Oxford Research Encyclopedia programme, OUP's most ambitious reference project in decades: building dynamic, continuously updated digital encyclopedias-by scholars, for scholars-in over twenty disciplines.
