Course structure
Taking place in your school, and led by experts, this day-long professional development course is made up of four modules, focusing on key areas of the Cambridge Lower Secondary mathematics curriculum framework:

  • Introduction to problem solving - to understand how problem solving is introduced, communicated, and assessed in the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum framework.
  • Applying problem solving - focusing on the incorporation of problem solving skills in lessons to build critical thinking and prepare students for moving on to Cambridge IGCSE.
  • Introduction to active learning and differentiation - to illustrate how active learning can improve mathematical ability, and demonstrate strategies to ensure every student is supported and stretched to reach their full potential.
  • Applying active learning and differentiation - considering active learning and differentiation approaches to ensure every student is ready to step up to Cambridge IGCSE confidently.

Resources
On attendance you will be supplied with a participant workbook to track your learning journey during the session, and which you can take away for continued teaching support. You will also be presented with a certificate of attendance at the end of the course.
