Implementing Inspire Maths

Professional development for school improvement is at the heart of the Inspire Maths programme. Inspire Maths is a transformational, whole-school approach to raising pupils’ achievement in maths. The programme of resources is built upon the internationally acclaimed approach to teaching mathematics in Singapore.

Inspire Maths professional development supports both classroom practice and wider school improvement. Teachers and senior leaders will be fully supported to ensure the most effective implementation Inspire Maths, both throughout the course and beyond in the professional learning community.

5 Day Programme
 Option 1: INSET  Option 2: Regional
    • Up to 30 staff at your school
    • 5 days of CPD over 3 terms at individual school
    • Guided by our consultants, designed to meet the needs of individual schools throughout the implementation programme
    • 2 staff members from your school: the Maths Lead and a member of the Senior Leadership Team
    • 5 days of CPD over 3 terms, at central locations nationally
    • Equipping leaders to successfully implement Inspire Maths in school

What does the Implementation Programme cover?

Over the course of three terms, these five days of intensive support will:

  • Introduce the Singapore approach to teaching and learning mathematics
  • Improve teachers’ subject knowledge
  • Develop teachers’ pedagogical understanding
  • Exemplify effective teaching with Inspire Maths through the spiral approach teaching to mastery
  • Consider how to embed conceptual understanding and procedural knowledge for deep learning
  • Support teachers in planning for implementation and delivery
  • Provide opportunities to engage with and share outcomes of classroom based tasks building a professional learning community
