For the last six years Dr. Vanessa Pittard has worked at the Department for Education in England developing policy, commissioning delivery and managing strategic relationships with the aim of improving outcomes for young people. Over recent years Vanessa has led policy reforms to mathematics and STEM education and primary phonics/literacy.
Vanessa now works as an Independent Education consultant offering extensive experience and expert advice linked to Curriculum and qualification change, pedagogy, mastery and cognition as well as education policy development.
Vanessa is passionate about using her PhD and academic background in cognitive psychology to underpin her approach to education, and deep commitment to evidence-based strategies and interventions.
