Read Write Inc. Fresh Start: The Whatever it Takes Project

The ‘Whatever It Takes’ initiative was launched in 2009 to ensure that every child in Leicester reaches their age related reading standard by the end of primary school. A significant number of secondary schools chose to implement Fresh Start to rapidly accelerate progress. These schools included: 1. New College, Leicester - accredited by Ofsted as one of the most rapidly improving secondary schools in the country. 2. Babington Community College - judged to be Outstanding in April 2013. 3.
