Oxford Dictionaries for Children has once again teamed up with BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show and Chris Evans' 500 WORDS – the nationwide competition to find the most talented young writers!


The 2020 BBC Radio 2 500 Words competition received 134,709 entries as budding young writers across the UK put pen to paper. With the help of Oxford Children's Dictionaries, the analysis of the 54 million words contained in this year's entries provided an illuminating snapshot of how children use language and the popular culture and trends prevalent in their generation.
