Gro Nystuen is dr. juris Associate Professor of International Humanitarian Law at the University of Oslo and the Norwegian Defense Staff University College. She worked in the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA) from 1991 to 2005, except from 2000-2003 when she wrote her doctoral thesis at the Law Faculty of the University of Oslo. She was appointed to chair the Council on Ethics for the Norwegian Government Pension Fund in 2004, and has held this office sine 2005, in addition to her teaching positions. As from 2008, she is managing partner of International Law and Policy Institute (ILP) in Oslo.
Dr Stuart Casey-Maslen is a Senior Researcher at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, and the Mine Action Editor of the Landmine Monitor, working for Norwegian People's Aid. He drafted the commentary of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, published by OUP in 2004.
