Sonya Abraham is a Rheumatologist and general physician with a passion for education and research. She undertook her clinical studies in London, Oxford and Cambridge, before undertaking a PhD in cellular biology and diploma in drug development and experimental therapeutics. Her philosophy is to teach and learn through observation, experience and the sharing of knowledge. She feels that exams whilst classically summative should also be formative, hence her passion for writing this book which whilst relevant to support in exam preparation aims to enhance the readers knowledge of rheumatology. Her aspiration is to nurture excellent rheumatology practitioners and researchers of the future.
Dr Elena Nikiphorou is a Consultant Rheumatologist at King's College Hospital and Clinical Researcher at King's College London. She has a clinical and academic interest in inflammatory arthritis and comorbidities in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. Dr Nikiphorou is involved in a number of rheumatology educational initiatives at national and international level.
Dr Anupama Nandagudi (MSc Rheumatology, PgCert MEd, FRCP) is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Basildon and Thurrock University hospital NHS trust with over 6 years' experience. She is an honorary lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University. Her special interests include osteoporosis, axial spondyloarthropathy and medical education. She runs osteoporosis and general Rheumatology clinics. She is a fellow of higher education academy. She is a member of the British society of spondyloarthritis and the National osteoporosis society. She is the secretary of Essex Rheumatology association. Dr Nandagudi trained as a rheumatologist in London. During her training she completed MSc Rheumatology with distinction from King's college and Postgraduate certificate in medical education from University college London and Royal college of Physicians. She has presented in national and international conference and published in peer reviewed journals. She actively participates in clinical research and medical education.
Hannah Jethwa is an ST5 rheumatology trainee based in North West London. She is keen to promote and improve rheumatology education to trainees as well as patients and relatives of those with chronic rheumatological disorders. She was keen to contribute to this book after struggling to find comprehensive revision resources while studying for her SCE exam during her ST4 year and hopes trainees will find this to be a helpful resource.
