Julian Dodd is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Manchester and Director of the Mind Association. He has written predominantly in the philosophy of language, metaphysics, and aesthetics. His publications include two monographs, An Identity Theory of Truth (Palgrave, 2000) and Works of Music: An Essay in Ontology (Oxford University Press, 2007), as well as the co-edited collection (with Helen Beebee), Truthmakers: The Contemporary Debate (Oxford University Press, 2005). He is currently working on topics in the philosophy of music and, in particular, a book-length project about authenticity in musical performance.
