Commemorating the martyrdom of St Catharine, this reflective piece sets the Antiphon at First Vespers, Feast of All Saints alongside a thought-provoking contemporary poem by Colin Tan, full of vivid imagery. Melodic lines reminiscent of plainchant enhance the contemplative mood. Suitable for the Feast of All Saints and St Catharine's Day.
Commissioned by St Catharine's College, Cambridge, for St Catharine's Day 2007 and first performed by the choir of St Catharine's College, Cambridge, directed by Edward Wickham, on 25 November 2007.

Commissioned by St Catharine's College, Cambridge in celebration of St Catharine's Day, Angeli, archangeli was first performed by the Choir of St Catharine's College, directed by Edward Wickham, on 25 November 2007. Rhythmically complex, involving beautiful melismatic passages, the work combines text for the Antiphon at First Vespers with a new poem by Colin Tan, written especially for the occasion.
