Oxford University Press Announces Agreement with Silverchair

Released on October 1, 2015

The Global Academic Division of Oxford University Press (OUP) and Silverchair Information Systems have agreed to engage in a technology relationship to re-envision and re-deploy OUP's content, products, and services. This collaboration brings together the two organizations' distinctive strengths to develop the most state-of-the-art publishing platform of all the major research publishers.

The synthesis of OUP's expertise with Silverchair's advanced capabilities in networked digital publishing will allow the development of a platform and research experience to meet and anticipate the evolving needs of the global scholarly community. OUP's rich academic content will be united with industry-leading technology and the flexibility to embrace third party research tools, ensuring that both OUP and its publisher partners continue to thrive in the digital ecosystem of the future.

Upon completion of this major project, journals, books, and online services will co-exist on an OUP platform for the very first time, allowing meaningful integration at a subject level to facilitate a seamless research experience for our users, customers and society partners.
