Customers in most countries can order online using credit or debit cards.

Buying online

The catalogue on this website covers all of OUP's range of titles, including books, electronic products, and printed music, except for English Language Teaching and Oxford Education books and products, journals, and selected items which are supplied free of charge.

As well as books, you can also buy personal subscriptions to many of our online products on this site, although please note that at the moment, these orders use a different shopping basket. Unfortunately this means that you will not be able to take advantage of any address information you may have stored in My Account, or view orders for online products in your account area. We hope to improve this process soon, and we apologize for any inconvenience. Institutional subscriptions to online products are not available for purchase through this website - please see the individual product pages for details of how to order, or visit www.global.oup.com/academic/online.

Ebooks are available from many ebook retailers and institutional ebook suppliers, and are not directly sold by OUP. View our current list of ebook suppliers.

Card payment security

Many banks are now introducing an extra level of security for online purchases called 3D- Secure. This aims to reduce the opportunity for fraud in online transactions. During the check-out process, you may be asked by your bank either to register or, if you already have registered, to provide a password or a second PIN. You will find this happening as you use other online stores. Mastercard call this 'Mastercard SecureCode' and VISA call it 'Verified by Visa'

Promotional codes

Many promotional codes will be applied to your order automatically when you follow a link from outside our website, for instance in an email marketing message, or when you click on an offer on our site.

However, if you have been given a promotional code, you will also have a chance to enter the code during the checkout process, when we ask you for your payment information.

Using multiple promotional codes

Generally, only one promotional code can be redeemed with any purchase. If you have more than one promotional code in your browser session, you will normally see the discount of the highest value applied. If you want a different promotional code to be applied, you will need to clear your cookies. Follow the instructions below (for Windows):

Make sure ‘Delete cookies’ is ticked
Select Clear data from this period: Everything
Click Clear Browsing Data
Close the browser session
Open a new window to continue browsing

• Mozilla Firefox
Ensure all but one browser window is closed
Click on Tools, then Clear Private Data
Make sure ‘Cookies’ is ticked
Click Clear Private Data Now
Close the browser session
Open a new window to continue browsing
