Retailers and Suppliers

Oxford University Press e-books are available from a range of online retailers and library suppliers.

Our e-books range across most subject areas including the humanities, social sciences, science, medicine, law and children's fiction. Books within popular series such as Oxford World's Classics and Very Short Introductions are widely available, alongside general interest titles, professional books and academic monographs.

OUP e-books can be purchased from various online stores, including:

Please note that not all titles are available from all suppliers.

Whilst we work hard to ensure that e-books are available at the same time as the printed book, on some occasions there may be a delay.

How to order

Some titles are available to buy direct from OUP via our US higher education website

For titles with the e-book buy option, choose a subscription length, and click the 'Buy E-book' button.

Login or create an account there to process payment.

Once payment has been successfully completed, you will be automatically redirected to the e-book download store (VitalSource).

Log in at VitalSource to access the e-book, using the same username and password that was used to purchase it.

Payment options

We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express, and also now allow Google Pay as an option, when purchasing an e-book direct from OUP via our higher education website.

Please note, we accept payments through Google Pay as long as you have associated a credit card with your Google Pay account. Payments will not succeed if you only have your bank account details added to your Google Pay settings.

Who can purchase an ebook

Students can purchase e-books from OUP direct via our higher education website, including those outside the US.

Payment is in US dollars $.

In some instances, you may not be able to complete a purchase due to sanctions, rights to sell, or other restrictions.


Countries where we can not sell direct

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to sell e-books within the following countries:

Afghanistan
Belarus
Cuba
Iran
North Korea
Russia
Sudan
South Sudan
Syria
Ukraine*
Venezuela

* We are able to accept new business from Ukraine, pending sanctions checks. Transactions in Ukraine are being reviewed to ensure that OUP meets its international and internal sanctions obligations.

Working with Research 4 Life (R4L), we have made access to OUP's full journals collection and all online books included in OUP's Developing Countries programme freely available to institutions and non-profit organizations in Ukraine.

How do I access the supporting digital content

If you are using an Enhanced e-Book, you should have access to all digital content (e.g., videos, practice tests, etc.) within your e-reader.

If your instructor requires you to use Oxford Learning Link, click on the Courseware tab on the e-book and copy the access code for your Learning Management System.

Tax

Depending on your location you may be charged tax.

Your order total, including any taxes to be charged, will be shown during checkout.

If you are ordering on behalf of a tax-exempt organization, please do not order e-books directly online.

If you believe that you have been charged tax in error, please contact our Customer Services Department.

Returns Policy for eBooks

If you have purchased an e-book direct from OUP the following policy applies.

You have 14 calendar days to return an item from the date you purchased it.

You must not have viewed or printed, in total, more than five percent (5%) of the eBook.

You must not have used any included access codes for any online resource that came with your eBook purchase.

You must not have previously returned the same eBook from a prior purchase.
