The International Series on Astronomy and Astrophysics covers a broad range of topics in astronomy and astrophysics at a level appropriate for graduate and upper division students in the physical sciences, as well as research scientists from related fields. The monographs provide coherent, accessible accounts of the present understanding of specific subject areas and bring the reader to an appreciation of current directions of research.

The series will include texts on the basic physics required for the interpretation and description of astronomical phenomena - Radiative Transfer, Atomic Spectroscopy, Molecular Spectroscopy, Optical Instrumentation, and Imaging Techniques and Instrumentation.
