Robert Agnew is the Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor in the Department of Sociology at Emory University. He is the author or co-author of numerous articles and books, including Criminological Theories: Essential Readings with Frank Cullen (Oxford University Press, 2011). He has won many teaching and research awards. In addition, he is well-known for having developed one of the leading theories on the causes of crime and delinquency, general strain theory.
Timothy Brezina is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Georgia State University. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Emory University in 1996. He regularly teaches the juvenile delinquency course as well as courses on criminology, and he is the author or co-author of numerous journal articles.
