About the Author

Louis Niebur is Assistant Professor of Musicology at the University of Nevada, Reno. He primarily writes about British music and media, in particular the ways music has been used in television and radio to define a kind of "Britishness." Growing up in 1980s America, he was fascinated by the unique and strange synthesizer noises emerging from the UK pop and TV world, and his work attempts to contextualize these sounds within the culture that produced them.
