Edward J. Hickling, Psy.D., is the founding partner of Capital Psychological Associates, an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department at the State University of New York at Albany, and on the clinical faculty at the Albany Medical College, Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Hickling has published several books, including two co-authored with Dr. Blanchard on their work with motor vehicle accident survivors, After the Crash: Assessment and Treatment of Motor Vehicle Accident Survivors and the edited volume, International Handbook of Road Traffic Accidents and Psychological Trauma: Current Understanding, Treatment, & Law.
Edward B. Blanchard, Ph.D., ABPP, received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Stanford University in 1969. In 2004 he retired from his position as Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the State University of New York at Albany and is currently Distinguished Professor Emeritus. Since 1989, he has collaborated with Dr. Hickling on research on survivors of serious motor vehicle accidents. His work in this area was supported by grants from NIMH and forms the background for this book.
