Developing a training plan: an interactive guide

This guide provides a walkthrough of the various stages in developing a training plan.

The guide is divided into seven sections: Introduction, Case study, Stage One (External and Internal analysis), Stage Two (Sources of competitive advantage and Intellectual capital), Stage Three (HRD strategic choices), Stage Four (HRD interventions and activities), and Stage Five (Evaluation).

Read the case study and then work your way through each stage of the guide. At each stage an example from the case is given as a prompt. Additionally there will be some short activities to complete along with links to real life examples. This exercise can be carried out by anyone reading the book or used by a tutor as a major case study as part of an undergraduate or postgraduate module.
