How do I use your site? Back to top
Our site is organized like this:
- The top strip (dark blue) gives you access to general information about Oxford University Press.
- The second strip (mid blue) contains the search box and links to several ecommerce functions.
- The left-hand menu generally is for subject browsing and narrowing your options.
- The right-hand menu holds additional menus and promotions.
- The middle of the page contains featured products and product listings.
You may browse the site without registering, but in order to buy the first time you will need to Register. On subsequent visits you just need
to Sign In. We store your address details but not your payment card details, so you will need to enter those each time you order.
You can find products either by searching or browsing.
To use simple search, enter a search term in the search box that you see throughout the site.
Advanced search is available from a link below the search box.
To browse, use the left-hand subject menu. This has several levels. You may be shown options to "Narrow by...", and these will help you to refine
your results down to a manageable number.
The basket information at the top right of most pages shows the number and value of items in your basket. When you have finished shopping and are ready to check out, click that link (or View Basket) and you will be guided through the checkout process. Items you place in your basket will stay there for 15 days unless you complete the checkout process or empty your basket. You may delete items from your basket at any time.

How accessible is your website? Back to top
Oxford University Press aims to make its websites accessible to the widest possible audience. We try to be standards compliant and follow the general principles of usability and universal design.
These principles include:
- using cascading style sheets (CSS) to control page layout and to keep the content clean;
- supplying alternate text for images;
- applying HTML tags appropriately;
- presenting additional markup in data tables and forms to help assistive technologies.
We are not always able to live up to these ideals everywhere on our site, and are sometimes limited by the software we use. We are, however, engaged in a continuous process of improvement, and welcome your feedback. If you have difficulty using our site, do please let us know by using our feedback form
