Tattooists, bodybuilders and bridge designer added to Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
15 June 2016
The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (ODNB) is a national record of people who’ve shaped all walks of British life, in the UK and overseas, from the Roman occupation to the 21st century.
The new online edition of the ODNB published in May, added biographies of 93 people active between the fourteenth and twentieth century, including late-Victorian pioneers of professional tattooing, historical bodybuilders, and Clifton Suspension Bridge designer Sarah Guppy, amongst others.
The Oxford DNB online is freely available in UK public libraries with library members able to log-in and read the dictionary online—at home or anywhere—at any time.
