International Copyright and Neighbouring Rights: The Berne Convention and Beyond 2nd Edition: Sam Ricketson & Jane Ginsburg
Authors' introduction to the website
This website is for the real Berne aficionado and is a vivid demonstration of how easy things have now become for the international copyright scholar in the digital age. No longer will it be necessary to trawl painfully though dusty archives and libraries for rare primary sources: most, we hope, will be here on this website.
Not only does this contain the historical and other material that appears in the appendices to the printed work, but, with the kind permission of WIPO, it includes all the prior Acts of the Berne Convention and English translations of many of the early conference documents, notably the reports of the general commissions and sub-commissions. The last-mentioned will be of great assistance to readers in providing insights into the debates and discussions that occurred at the various important stages in the development of Berne.
SAM RICKETSON JANE GINSBURG 9 December 2005
Note from the authors on the appended materials:
Other relevant documents may be added with the passage of time, although our intent here is primarily historical and we do not, in any way, wish to replicate the excellent archival holdings of current documents already to be found on the WIPO and other websites. Sam Ricketson & Jane Ginsburg, 9 December 2005
